DIRTSTAR
團員簡介:
DIRTSTAR
Imagine the catchiest tunes you’ve ever heard. Put them in a night market take-out bag and shake them around with some indie pop, DIY punk and electronic sampling, and you have something approaching the Dirt Star Sound.
Combine that with some of the craziest live shows you are ever likely to see and you will understand why “More Rock Stars Choose Dirt Star”.
Dirt Star has had a unique path from the streets of North America. Since then he has played shows in the indie music venues of Taipei, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong.
He’s found inspiration along the way while living by the West Lake in Hangzhou, in the verdant hills of Hong Kong’s Lamma Island, and on Gulangyu Island, Xiamen.
Plus the songs are really cool~~
Dirt Star is a solo project, with a multitude of collaborators, from across the universe. And what each of these collaborators has in common is an acute sense of rockness
Influences include Beijing punk, new york garage, Shibuya mashup culture, south china noodles.
Da Diao! Also, Cuervo Gold with orange and cinnamon (preferably in 3s), Kingway-Taiwan-Yanjing Pijiu are all Earth-born fuels found to have a great deal of influence on the Dirt Star. As does Punk, Indie, Garage, Surf, Electronic, Downbeat, Hip Hop, Drum and Bass, Indie Pop ... but not Canto-Pop, Punk ... If any of these people could sing in Chinese they might be as cool as us: Sun Ra, Brian Eno, DJ Shadow, Invisible Scratch Pickles, Devo, The Eels, Beck, Don Ho ... These poeple can speak Chinese but we dont sound like any of them: Wang Fei, Andy Lau, A-Mei, Coco Li ... Rain speaks Korean but he can say "Ni Hao" ...
